The description of  metallized ceramics

Since both significant difference of thermal expansion coefficient and lack of wettability between advanced ceramics and metals , it’s hardly impossible to braze such 2 materials directly. Ceramic metallization is a one of reliable technology to achieve ceramic-to-metal joining.In common case, a certain metallic layer, like molybdenum (Mo/Mn) or tungsten(W), would be applied on the ceramic surface , then cured under high temperature reducing or vacuum atmosphere. The metallic layer therewith adheres to the surface of ceramic parts tightly , it let the ceramic surface have metallic properties and achieve the connection of metal and ceramic by means of high-temperature brazing accordingly. The ceramic parts with this special surface treatment are called ” Metallized ceramics”. These technical engineered ceramics are commonly used in many applications, like electronics, high-vacuum technology, medical technology, sensor technology.

 

The metalized ceramics we manufacture are characteristic of excellent bonding strength, ideal air tightness after brazing, super mechanical, excellent electrical insulation, exceptional thermal features. Sometimes, the designated section would be glazed or polished to enhance the mechanical strength and electrical breakdown strength, especially in high-voltage applications.
