Introduction to Black Alumina Ceramics
Black alumina ceramics (also known as “black ceramics”) are colored ionic alumina ceramics that absorb visible light substantially and uniformly. Its main component is aluminum oxide, and it appears black because it also contains colored oxides. The coloring oxide may be various mixtures of Fe₂O₃, CoO, MnO, CuO, and the like.
In addition to the characteristics of alumina ceramics: high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, low dielectric loss, and electrical insulation, black alumina ceramics can also play a role in shading. Semiconductor devices are often very sensitive to light, and black ceramic can meet the needs of light shielding, so it is widely used in the semiconductor industry, such as semiconductor refrigerators, and the packaging of integrated circuits. Specific applications include black alumina ceramic circuit substrates and package bases.
Black Aluminum Oxide Washer – Special Custom Product
Black alumina ceramic washers are suitable for seals in various mechanical equipment and industrial equipment, especially for equipment requiring high temperature stability and wear resistance, such as high temperature furnaces, electrical equipment, chemical equipment, etc.
It should be noted that black alumina ceramic washers are not common, and in most cases alumina ceramic gaskets are white or similar to white. If a specific color of alumina ceramic gasket is required, it can be achieved by adding pigments or dyes, or communicate and customize with the manufacturer according to specific needs.
Difference Between Ceramic Washer and Metal Washer
Ceramic and metal washers are two common gasket materials with some differences in performance and application. The following are the main differences between ceramic washers and metal washers:
1. Material properties: Ceramic washers are mainly made of ceramic materials, such as alumina, silicon nitride, etc. Metal washers are mainly made of metal materials, such as stainless steel, copper, etc. Due to the different materials, the physical and chemical properties of the two are also different.
2. Sealing performance: Ceramic gaskets have good sealing performance and can provide a high sealing effect to avoid leakage of liquid or gas. Due to the flexibility and plasticity of metal materials, metal gaskets have relatively poor sealing performance.
3. Wear resistance: Ceramic gaskets have good wear resistance, can resist scratches and wear, and have a long service life. Metal gaskets may in some cases wear out and cause leakage or failure.
4. Temperature resistance: Ceramic gaskets usually have good high temperature resistance and can work stably in high temperature environments. Metal gaskets may expand or deform in high temperature environments, affecting their sealing performance.
5. Electrical insulation: Ceramic washers have good insulation properties and are suitable for scenarios that require electrical insulation properties. Metal washers are conductive and are not suitable for equipment with high electrical insulation requirements.
